How is the idea of having a living teddy bear with his own little palace in a luxury dog kennel? If you want to bring home a pet, let’s share some facts about teddy bear dog breeds with you.

These dogs may be hybrids or purebreds. As the name suggests, the dogs have a resemblance with Teddy Bears. Breeds like teacup yorkies,cockapoos, and Zuchons have cute features like a soft coat, round and bright eyes and a small nose.

Bichon Frises, Poodles and Shih Tzus are common breeds mixed with designer dogs. The Yorkie Poos are bred from Yorkshire Terriers and Poodles.

Here are some of the breeds.

Zuchon

The dog is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Frise Bichon. The Shih Tzu is tiny. As an average grown adult, it weighs between eight to 14 pounds. This dog has long and often curly hair and it is lovable and intelligent.It lives up to fifteen years. For most Zuchons adults, the dog crate size would be 24 inches.

This is an active breed and a domestic dog. It's good for children and even good for other family animals. However, when it is left alone, it might freak out.

This cross-breed has health risks from both family sides. However, the silver lining is it does not inherit much risk of one family side. Still, many things are under observance like canine hip dysplasia, liver disease, and epilepsy. This active breed needs plenty of space and requires at least thirty minutes to play twice every day.

Shichon

Interestingly, like the Zuchon, the Shichon is a cross breed of the Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu. Indeed, it is similar, but not everyone agrees.

It is pretty tiny and only 12 inches tall. On average, it weighs 12- 14 pounds and the dog crate size would be 24 inches.

Pomeranian

It has a fluffy and silky coat, curled tail, small ears, and a little button nose – this is genuinely a teddy bear dog. It is jovial and confident and an excellent family dog, although sometimes it can be a bit timid and shy. It needs to be trained socially. A Pomeranian usually weighs between three to seven pounds and height is seven to 12 inches. However, some are a little larger; the weight may vary up to 14 pounds.

You need to take care of its appearance as it requires regular brushing and grooming. This is a pure breed and susceptible to certain inherited conditions. Here is the list of diseases you should take care of if you own a Pomeranian - Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Entropion, Shoulder Luxation and other eye conditions.

Teacup Pomeranian

This is a softer breed type of Pomeranian. It weighs five pounds or less. These tiny dogs are endearing but also delicate. If you have kids at home this is not a wise choice; its safety could be questioned. A teacup pom typically weighs approximately three lbs, and an adult usually is less than eight inches tall.

This tiny dog has a few health risks. Its small lungs have complications that lead to permanent breathing problems. It also easily gets digestive problems that is why you need to feed it several times a day in smaller amounts. Blood sugar is also an issue. This small dog can get its neck hurt easily, so you must take precautions when walking and do not pull the leash.

Poochon

This is a hybrid between Poodle and Bichon Frise and a cute member of Teddy Bear Dog Club. It is only six - 18 lbs and has a height of 9 to 14 inches. Its parents are Bichon Frise and Miniature Poodle that is why it is tiny. This is high in energy and needs many exercises and mental support every day to stay healthy.

Shih Poo

This is a hybrid of poodle and Shih Tzu.. It is gentle and obedient. It needs regular grooming, brushing and bathing. Use a gentle shampoo to make it free from dry or flaky skin. Do not forget to clean its ears to keep it infection free.
